The Windrush Caribbean Film Festival is proud to announce the launch of its debut podcast series, The Windrush Caribbean Film Festival Podcast: The Journey Continues — a capsule collection of five thought-provoking episodes celebrating the stories, resistance and cultural contributions of the Windrush Generation and its descendants.
Hosted by award-winning journalist Nadine Drummond (pictured), the series brings together trailblazers from film, music, academia and activism for bold conversations that go beyond the headlines to explore the heart of Black British and Caribbean cultural life.
“This podcast was born out of the desire to create something lasting. A capsule that reflects the depth, beauty and complexity of our stories beyond the festival week. It is one of the things I am most proud of from my time as Festival Director.”
— Juanita Rosenior, WCFF 2025 Festival Director
The capsule includes:
Legacy, Lies and Lessons with Patrick Vernon OBE and Professor Lez Henry
IREKE: The Rise of the Maroons with Peter MacJob and Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe
The Future Is Ours with arts leader Suzann McLean
Reggae and Film with Ian Watts and Raymond Banton
Resistance and Joy with Ansel Wong CBE and Ray Mahabir
Together, these episodes form a dynamic and timely archive of stories from across the Windrush diaspora, exploring identity, creativity, cultural ownership and intergenerational pride.
The full capsule is now available to stream on YouTube.
